Art & design / Pixel Quilt

Make something small, one pixel at a time

Draw pixel art on an 8, 16, or 32-cell grid. Paint, fill, erase, undo, and save a transparent PNG, SVG, or editable project without an account.

01

Make a little pixel art

Open a saved Pixel Quilt project

Up to 100 KB. A valid project replaces the canvas; Undo restores it. Image files are not imported.

Start with a transparent grid. Every painted square is yours.

02

Draw and keep the result

Drag to draw. Keyboard: focus the grid, use arrow keys to move, then Space or Enter to apply the selected tool. Undo keeps the last 30 edits.

Save a project to edit it later. Closing this tab clears your work.

Small canvas, plenty of character

Build a picture one square at a time.

Sketch an icon, a tiny character, a geometric motif, or a simple game asset. Start with 8 × 8 for a bold shape, or use 16 × 16 or 32 × 32 for more detail. The checker pattern means transparency.

PNG keeps crisp, enlarged pixels. SVG stays sharp when resized. A project JSON keeps the editable grid so you can continue later. Each format is created on your device.

How do the tools work?

Pencil paints a cell or a continuous stroke. Eraser makes cells transparent. Fill replaces the connected area of the same color, using shared edges rather than diagonals. Pick copies a painted cell’s color and returns to the pencil.

Can I undo a new canvas or project import?

Yes. Undo keeps the last 30 edits, including strokes, fills, new canvases, and valid imports. Redo is available until you make another edit. Changing size takes effect only when you press New canvas. Undo history stays in this tab and is not saved in the project file.

Do grid lines appear in the export?

No. The grid, checker pattern, and keyboard cursor are editing guides only. Unpainted cells remain transparent in PNG and SVG. Export scale changes the output dimensions without smoothing the pixels.

Is my drawing stored anywhere?

There is no account, upload, or automatic recovery. Save the project JSON before closing or refreshing if you want to edit it again. The tool opens only its own project format; it does not convert photos into pixel art.
