Keep little counts together

Track several named counters, adjust counts with buttons or keys, and see totals and shares. Download a CSV or save a board to reopen locally.

01

Name your counters

1–12 distinct labels, one per line, up to 30 characters each. Creating a board starts its counts at zero.

Open a Tally Pad JSON file up to 12 KB. The current board stays available if the file is invalid.

Use the starter counters or name your own. Save a board before leaving this tab.

02

My tally

0Total counted

Tap + or −, or edit a number directly. With the board focused, keys 1–9 add one; Shift subtracts. Shares are rounded.

A place for little counts

Keep several tallies in view.

Count observations, choices, completed tasks, or items in a group. Give each counter a name, adjust the numbers, and see the total and shares as you go.

Save a CSV for a spreadsheet or a JSON board to reopen here. Nothing is uploaded or automatically saved.

Can I undo a reset or a new board?

Yes. Undo keeps the last 100 board changes in this tab, including count edits, resets, new boards, and imports. It restores the whole earlier board. Reloading or closing the tab clears both the board and its undo history.

How do keyboard shortcuts work?

Focus the board or one of its buttons, then press 1–9 to add one to the matching counter. Hold Shift with the number to subtract. Holding a key down does not repeatedly count. Shortcuts are ignored while editing a text or count field. Counters 10–12 use their buttons or direct editing.

What are the limits?

A board has 1–12 counters. Each accepts whole numbers from zero to 999,999; negative counts are not supported. Shares show one decimal place, so rounded shares may not total exactly 100%.

Will my counts return on the next visit?

Only if you save and reopen a board JSON file. CSV files contain labels, counts, and rounded shares for spreadsheets; JSON also preserves the title and exact counts for this tool. Invalid or outdated file reads cannot overwrite a newer board edit.
