A little hunt on paper
Your words stay here. Save both pages before leaving.
Your theme, your puzzle
Turn a word list into a small adventure.
Make a search for a class topic, a club activity, a family gathering, or a quiet moment with pencil and paper. Choose words that belong together, then print the puzzle and keep its answer key.
Across-and-down puzzles only use left-to-right and top-to-bottom placements. All-eight-directions mode also allows diagonals and backwards words. A larger grid gives long lists more room.
What happens to spaces and accents?
The grid uses uppercase A–Z. For example, “ice cream” becomes ICECREAM and “café” becomes CAFE. Common decomposable accents, spaces, apostrophes, and hyphens are removed. Other scripts, numbers, and unsupported characters are rejected. The word bank shows the exact forms to find.
Will every word appear?
A successful puzzle includes every word in your list. If the generator cannot place the full list within its work limit, it asks you to enlarge the grid or remove words. It never silently drops an entry. Duplicate normalized words are rejected.
Can a word appear more than once?
Yes, especially short words. Letters used as filler or by other words can create extra matches. The answer key marks one generated placement per listed word. Review the page before using it with a group.
How do I print the puzzle without answers?
Leave “Show answer key” off and choose Print puzzle / PDF. Turn it on to print the answer page separately. Match the paper size, use portrait orientation, and disable browser headers and footers. SVG downloads are separate files and stay sharp when printed.
